Monel K500 is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-copper alloy that consolidates the excellent corrosion resistance normal for Monel 400 with the additional point of preference of more prominent quality and hardness. Monel K500 is a nickel-copper alloy, precipitation hardenable through additions of aluminum and titanium. Monel K500 retains the excellent corrosion resistant characteristics of 400 and has enhanced strength and hardness after precipitation hardening when compared with 400.
The corrosion resistance of monel K-500 is generously identical to that of alloy 400 aside from that when in the age-solidified condition, nickel monel K-500 has a more prominent propensity toward anxiety corrosion breaking in a few situations. Monel K-500 has been observed to be impervious to a harsh gas environment. The blend of low erosion rates in high-speed burn water and high quality make monel K-500 especially reasonable for shafts of outward pumps in marine administration.
